Google Launches Startup School India Programme For Small-City Entrepreneurs
Tech giant Google has launched a nine-week virtual programme– Startup School India, a Google for startups initiative. It is a series of guided online training designed to equip early-stage startup founders with the tools, products, and knowledge that growing companies need.
Aimed at early-stage founders with a minimum viable product, the nine-week virtual programme is designed to organise knowledge about the startup ecosystem into a structured curriculum and deliver it across a wide footprint.
Startup School India Programme | Google For Startups
Startup School India aims to guide 10,000 startups in tier II & III cities in the country. It will feature fireside chats between Google leaders and collaborators from across the startup ecosystem spanning direct-to-consumer (D2C), fintech, B2B and B2C e-commerce, language, social media & networking, and job search, among others.
Speaking on the development, Gayatri Yadav, chief marketing officer, Sequoia India and Southeast Asia, and one of the collaborators in the programme, said,
“The Startup School is an excellent initiative to reach founders at scale in India. As more young, tech-savvy founders start to build their businesses, it’s important that the fundamentals of company-building are well thought to help the founders build for the long-term.”
Google, through this nine-week virtual programme, aims to provide education on growth, tech, and product, covering aspects including setting OKRs, making technical hires, preparing a data pipeline and getting started with Google products. All this will be delivered live by Google experts, unicorn founders, and VCs.
Vivek Gupta (Co-founder of Licious), Rajan Anandan (MD Sequoia India and SEA & Surge), and Mabel Chako (Co-founder of Open) are some of Google’s ecosystem collaborators for the programme.
Commenting on Startup School India Programme, Varun Alagh, Co-founder of Mamaearth, said,
“Google has always believed in giving back to the startup ecosystem, and this initiative lives the spirit. After working with thousands of startups, they truly understand the need gaps which their Startup School initiative aims to bridge.”
