Healthcare and Insurtech Firm Flashaid Raises $2.5 Million in Funding, To Accelerate Growth and Expand To New Cities

Flashaid, a healthcare and insurtech firm, has made headlines by raising $2.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round. The funding round was led by the Piper Serica Angel Fund and global venture capital firm SOSV, where early-stage investors—Z21 Ventures Fund and ZNLGrowth Fund, also participated.

As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to accelerate growth and expand to six new cities. 

Founded by Manoj Gupta and Gunjali Kothari, Flashaid is a healthcare and insurtech startup that offers a full-stack health solution with proprietary pre-underwritten products, open APIs, and embedded solutions. The startup ties up with insurance companies to tailor-make products and partner with e-commerce platforms and brands to distribute insurance to its users. 

Speaking about the development, Gunjali Kothari, Co-Founder at Flashaid, highlighted the expected 30% increase in digital platform adoption by 2030. She emphasized the significant opportunity this presents to align the ecosystem toward providing scalable solutions that promote health equity in India.

As per Kothari, Flashaid is actively embracing this digital revolution through its API-centric strategy, which aligns with the shifting behaviors of customers in the process of purchasing and accessing healthcare services.

Commenting on the development, Abhay Agrawal, Managing Director and Founder of Piper SericaAngel Fund, said, 

“Flashaid revolutionizes India’s health insurance landscape, leveraging digital access to overcome traditional agent-led models. This innovation unlocks the mass market, driving industry growth and value creation.” 

As per the firm, it is building an API-first health cover to enhance the affordability and accessibility of health insurance in digital India. The healthcare and insurtech firm is developing a unique channel for retail health plan distribution via a B2B2C platform. 

Flashaid claims to have partnered with over 20 platforms to distribute 30,000+ health covers over the last year and is profitable at the EBITDA level. It has an ARR of $1 million, with expectations to grow to a $10 million ARR (annual run rate) in the next two years.
