Blingg | Discovery Platform For D2C Brands
Founded by Sanil Jain in 2021, Blingg is a Mumbai-based startup that offers D2C trials membership built for urban millennials. The Mumbai-based startup delivers a customized box of products from new D2C brands for customers to try.
Speaking about the development, Sanil Jain, Founder of Blingg, said,
“We are currently developing technology that will enable D2C brands to reach their ideal customers effectively. Our current fundraise will help in launching our proprietary matchmaking technology for product sampling.”
The platform enables D2C brands to launch, sample and sell through their Shopify-integrated platform. Blingg claims to have worked with over 75 D2C brands across food, beverage, health, wellness and beauty.
Commenting on the development, Jeroen Bertrams, General Partner, Decentralized VC, said,
“Most D2C brands struggle with online marketing and need new channels to reach customers. Blingg offers brands in the segment a new and cost-effective way to reach their target group and receive data on their campaigns along with feedback on their products.”
The direct-to-consumer (D2C) approach has become the first choice of businesses. Backed by increasing smartphone penetration, rising internet users in India, and growing consumer interest, D2C brands in India are estimated to become a $60 billion industry by FY27, highlighted a report by Shiprocket.
Earlier in January, D’chica, a Delhi-NCR based direct-to-consumer (D2C) fashion brand that offers innerwear along with a fashion line of sportswear, loungewear and footwear, raised Rs 1.62 crore from revenue-based financier Velocity.
The same month, Zlade, a Pune-based direct-to-consumer personal care brand and Wakefit Innovations raised funds. Last year, several D2C startups raised funds, including Ustraa, Rapidbox, Good Health Company, and XYXX Apparels.
