Started by Dr Saher Mehdi and Manish Kumar in 2018, wellOwise is a precision health startup that is preventing lifestyle diseases and delivering a precision diagnosis.

Helping people to stay well and wise, the healthtech startup provides personalised diet and lifestyle recommendations to help people live better and longer.

The healthtech startup also assigns lifestyle coaches who provide clinical and fitness consultations to stay fit.

How wellOwise Started?

As every individual is different, with individual gene variability and functional diversity, a generalised approach to health cannot be followed.

What is good for one person might be not so good for the other. There is no one size fit all solutions for health.

This thought led Dr Saher Mehdi and Manish Kumar to start wellOwise to provide precision health solutions.

Precision health solutions take into account differences in an individual’s genes, environments and lifestyle, and formulates treatment and prevention strategies based on one’s unique background and condition.

Speaking about precision health solutions, Manish Kumar, Co-founder and CEO of wellOwise, says,

 “We all have unique genetics, different family histories, environment, and lifestyle. We test and analyse all these factors and understand the risk of lifestyle diseases among people.”

USP Of wellOwise

With precision health solutions, wellOwise is helping people optimise their health by translating health insights into personalised and dietary supplement recommendations.

The healthtech startup empowers people with scientific data-driven insights about their health and a personalized action plan to live better and longer.

Manish says,

“We are trying to help people optimise their health by translating health insights into personalised and dietary supplement recommendations.”

wellOwise collects and combines multi-dimensional data (including genetic, blood, habit, diet and behavioural data) of an individual to measure all that is unique and draw actionable insights using our proprietary machine learning-based risk platform. 

Manish adds,

“With our insights, one can understand if they are prone to diabetes and can then take appropriate measures to avoid the disease.”

These insights are used to deliver personalised diet and lifestyle recommendations to help people live better and longer.

Present Situation Of wellOwise

Mainly targeting people aged between the mid-20s and mid-40s, wellOwise currently has 600 people enrolled as a part of its health programmes.

The healthtech startup operates on a subscription-based model and offers two programmes, Rewise™ Basic Program and Rewise™ Advanced Program, for the users. The basic program is priced at Rs 12,500, while the advanced program costs Rs 24,000.

wellOwise is also working with specialist doctors from institutions such as AIIMS Delhi, Max Superspeciality, Lady Harding Medical College, Medanta, Action Balaji, and Apollo to help them get access to patient’s data, lifestyle habits, and genetic changes to take better treatment decisions.

Future Plans Of wellOwise

Working to raise awareness about precision healthcare in the country, wellOwise aims at onboarding at least 8-10K users in the next 12 to 16 months.

Also, the healthtech startup is working with research labs in the UK and Turkey and is considering international expansion in these markets.
