Immersive Labz Raises $1 Mn In Pre-Series A Funding Round

Immersivevision Technologies Pvt Ltd, which operates Pune-based deeptech startup Immersive Labz, has raised $1 million (Rs 8.2 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round.

ah! Ventures Angel Platform, Hyderabad Angels, and existing investors such as Hem Angels, Marwari Catalysts, and Cognify, among others, participated in the funding round.

Founded by Amresh Sharma, Amit Ranjan, and Navin Mandal, Immersive Labz offers immersive virtual 3D science labs, providing learning solutions in practical science education.

The Pune-based firm has built two products – SimuLab, a 3D virtual science lab and Cadaviz, a virtual human dissection table. 

Speaking about the development, Amresh Sharma, Co-Founder of Immersive Labz, said,

“This funding round will ensure that we are able to scale up and deliver the products to a much larger audience. We have large number of enquiries for our solutions and expect to grow significantly from hereon using the capital raised in this round.”

The firm claims to have sold its products to some of the large medical education and coaching institutes in the country. It has a strong order pipeline and expects to revolutionise medical education in the country with its state-of-the-art proprietary virtual human dissection table.

The funding round was led by ah! Ventures, which has done 184 investments in 120 startups to date. It has a total investment portfolio of around Rs 385 crore, with 16 exits and 48 follow-on rounds. 

In 2023, the platform has made 30 investments. Last month, ah! Ventures, through its High Tables Platform, invested in EV scooter startup Starya MobilityAlso, through its angel platform, ah! Ventures invested in Kyte Energy, a Nashik-based EV two-wheeler maker.

Since the beginning of 2023, there has been an increased investor interest in the deeptech space. In May 2023, InCore Semiconductors, a Chennai-based fabless-semiconductor startup focused on building class-leading RISC-V-based processor solutions, raised $3 million in seed funding.

A few other deeptech startups that raised fundign this year, include Uravu LabsMindgrove Technologies and Myelin Foundry.
