Gurugram-based ChefKart Raises $2 Million Funding
ChefKart, a Gurugram-based at-home cooking services platform, has raised $2 million in funding led by Pravega Ventures and Blume Ventures.
The funding round also saw participation from Zomato Co-founder Deepinder Goyal, Titan Capital, Cred founder Kunal Shah, Tremis Capital, Lets Venture, and other angel investors.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to realise its goal of dominating the subscription-based at-home cooking service market in Gurugram as well as expanding to new regions.
ChefKart | Connecting Home Chefs With Households
Founded by Vaibhav Gupta, Arpit Gupta, and Aman Gupta in 2020, ChefKart is a platform that connects home chefs with households seamlessly. The startup offers qualified and vetted home chefs who prepare hygienic meals per the users’ preferences.
Speaking on the development, Vaibhav Gupta, chief executive officer and founder of ChefKart, said,
“We have served over 3,200+ families and are managing over 2,300+ cooking sessions daily with a 15% month-on-month growth, and cost-saving is our DNA. With Urban Company shutting down its chef services, we are the market leader. and proves our mantle of running and building a large-scale enterprise.”
ChefKart is an end-to-end kitchen aide that plans, shops and cooks for you in your home kitchen. The Gurugram-based startup provides trained and verified home cooks who create perfectly hygienic meals suited best to your taste. In August 2021, ChefKart raised $300,000 in a pre-seed round from Titan Capital, Lead Angels, Vipul Allawadhi (Co-founder, Kutumbh), Pravega Ventures, and others.
Commenting on the development, Mukul Singhal, Co-founder and partner at Pravega Ventures, said,
“ChefKart is driven by the idea to digitise an essential service that is largely unorganised. They are the pioneers in streamlining an industry with tremendous untapped market potential.”
As per a FICCI-PwC report, the Indian food services market is expected to be worth Rs 5,52,000 crores in 2022, with the unorganised sector accounting for approximately 57% of the market.
