Nexzu Mobility Signs MoU with Gujarat Government To Develop India’s First Smart EV Park

Sustainable urban transportation solutions provider Nexzu Mobility has made headlines by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to develop India’s first-ever Smart EV Park.

One of The StartupLabs portfolio companies, Nexzu Mobility, highlighted that it will invest INR 5,000 crores over the next 10 years to set up the park. This move is expected to generate employment for over 5,000 people.

As per the firm, the project work is set to begin next year once the land has been allotted for the project.

Founded by Atulya Mittal, Nexzu Mobility is a sustainable urban transportation solutions provider offering electric cycles and soon-to-be-revealed electric scooters.

Speaking on the development, Atulya Mittal, Founder of Nexzu Mobility, highlighted that the firm is excited to redefine the landscape of clean and green mobility by signing this ambitious MoU.

Mittal, while mentioning Gujarat’s focus on clean energy and mobility, high-tech manufacturing, and innovation, called the place a fantastic destination for a Smart EV Park. As per Mittal, the EV Park will strengthen Gujarat’s standing as an EV manufacturing hub and support the ‘Make-in-India, Make-for-the-World’ initiative in the industry.

The proposed Smart EV Park, as per the firm, will be a state-of-the-art industrial park. It would have ready-to-move-in manufacturing facilities, common R&D units and testing facilities, housing, educational, and healthcare facilities. Additionally, the Smart EV Park will also include facilities designed to train professionals on the latest in electronics, battery manufacturing, powertrains, and other EV components.

Commenting on the development, Chintamani Sardesai, Business Head, Nexzu Mobility, highlighted this move as a first-of-kind development in the Indian EV ecosystem, underscoring its caliber to transform the EV landscape in the country.

Sardesai added,

“At this hub, we will be providing support to OEMs manufacturing commercial as well as passenger vehicles across segments, along with battery manufacturers.”

The agreement between Nexzu Mobility and the State of Gujarat has come at a time when the mobility segment is undergoing a transformational phase. And the establishment of the Smart EV Park will provide a big boost to the development of the overall EV ecosystem in the country, also accelerating the adoption of electric mobility.
