Lithium Urban Technologies, a mobility solutions provider, has acquired end-to-end employee transport software provider, SmartCommute, to increase its mobility offerings.

As part of the deal, Lithium will be integrating its platform with SmartCommute to expand further into the transportation segments, including freight and rapid bus transit, among others. The mobility solutions startup will also cater to both electric and non-electric vehicles for its client portfolio.

SmartCommute is a SaaS-based end to end fully managed employee commute service provider. The startup leverages technology to organize cab vendors, improve efficiency through intelligent and automated vehicle routing, enable paperless real-time communication between stakeholders and ensure real-time personal safety risk assessment and management.

Started by Sanjay Krishnan, Lithium is a mobility solutions provider and claims to be India’s first zero-emission transport service, backed by its fleet of Electric Vehicles (EVs) and associated charging infrastructure.

Speaking about the acquisition, Sanjay Krishnan, Founder of Lithium, said,

Lithium is leveraging technology to offer telemetry, GIS, employee transport management, scheduling, rostering and analytics-based optimization, and trained and certified drivers. The mobility solutions provider also owns and operates an electric-vehicle charging network spread across seven cities in India.
