Founded by Rahul KR and Sourav Badami in December 2022, Simple Viral Games is a gaming platform that offers simple and engaging games which are simple in mechanics and free to play.

The startup launched Time Pass in December, a casual game where users can switch between games through a TikTok-like interface. Besides Time Pass, SVG also has titles like Element Block, Golf Adventures, and Comfy Farm in its portfolio.

Speaking about the development, Rahul KR and Sourav said,

“We are making Bharat discover and play the world’s best, most simple, fun and innovative games! Imagine a video game arcade, which has 1000s of games to choose from, and you can start playing with a single tap, all in one single app.”

As per the founders, their goal with SVG is to become a TikTok-like platform for hyper-casual/casual games and empower game developers. In the next 3-5 years, the founders wish to have over 100M monthly active gamers on the platform.

The firm also looks to build an offline version of Time Pass, which is currently available on iOS, Android and its website.

Commenting on the investment, Rohit Krishna, General Partner, WEH Ventures, said,

“Except gaming, almost all other content categories have platforms that focus on personalized, infinite scrolls. We think Rahul and Sourav have great chemistry and complementary skills to build a ‘TikTok for gaming’ platform for Bharat.”

According to a report by gaming fund Lumikai, India has 507 million gamers. And the gaming industry is expected to reach $8.6 billion in FY27.

Banking on this growth, Ashneer Grover, former co-founder of BharatPe, recently launched CrickPe, a fantasy sports platform. Recently, web3 gaming startup Kratos Studios, launched by former Nazara Technologies CEO Manish Agarwal and web3 investor Ishank Gupta, raised Rs 160 crore in a seed round.
