Indian Startup Stories

Having tried several skincare brands in an attempt to solve issues of enlarged pores and pigmentation, Anondeep Ganguly and Prabmehar Singh realised that skincare products available in the market were just not doing enough.

And, in the search for a suitable and effective product that could cure enlarged pores and pigmentation in men and women, the duo founded Skin Pot.

“We realised that most combinations of essential oils are harmful to the skin and not beneficial as claimed. Thus, we started Skin Pot to deliver clinically effective, biocompatible skincare formulations without the ubiquitous ‘toxins’, sensitisers, and irritants,” says Anondeep.

Founding Team

Started by Anondeep Ganguly and Prabmehar Singh in 2020, Skin Pot is a Delhi-based skincare startup believing in a minimalist approach to skincare and developing hybrid skincare products.

With its minimalist skin approach and hybrid products, Skin Pot helps balance the microbiome and get the skin back to the healthy best. As per the startup, its products provide tangible results within a week without having to follow a 12-step beauty regime.

Starting Point

Struggling to find good skincare products for themselves, Anondeep and Prabmehar realised that the skincare products available in the market were not providing the required solution. They both needed were products that could solve their skincare issues.

It was then, Anondeep’s father, who is a scientist and a specialist in plant molecules, skin diagnosis, biomarkers, and skin treatment with more than 40 years of experience, leveraged his network of fellow scientists that helped the duo find solutions to skin problems.

USP Of Skin Pot

The skincare startup crafts precise and efficient formulations designed to work with the more profound components of the skin.  As per Prabmehar, their products contain formulations that work deep in the skin microbiome to balance it.

Prabmehar adds,

“Our products target the root cause of many skin issues like eczema, acne, dry skin, even fine lines, and any UV damages caused due to the imbalance in skin microbiome. They help regenerate, repair, and protect skin by maintaining the skin microbiome.”

Skin Pot offers a wide range of products like exfoliation peel, collagen-boosting cream, hybrid serums, sleeping masks, sunscreen, face wash etc., all with active ingredients inside.

Present Situation Of Skin Pot

Skin Pot has a team of about seven employees currently, and it aims to grow by 27-30 employees by the end of this year. On the revenue side, the startup claims to currently have an Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) of Rs 1 crore.

The bootstrapped startup sells its products through its own website and has a presence on marketplaces like Nykaa, Amazon, and others.

Prabmehar says,

“We are not looking to offer a viral product to the skincare market, and we are also not into mass production. Instead, we believe in slow and sustainable growth by following our passion for science and innovation. We believe in creating more innovative formulations to revolutionise the beauty industry with our formulations.”

Future Plans

As per the founders, Skin Pot plans to build the brand aggressively after launching new innovative SKUs during Diwali on marketplaces and through their website.

Skin Pot is looking to launch a range of hybrid easy-to-use products under three different sublines, which will be typically priced at Rs 339-999, as per the founders. Additionally, the startup plans to raise funds in the next 12-18 months.
