Vernacular dating app Flutrr has raised INR 4 Crores in a fresh funding round led by The Chennai Angels. The Times of India and several well-known individual investors like Vivek Singh, Adhiraj Sarin, and Ramki Ravulpalli, among others, also participated in the funding round.

As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to expand its user base to 5 million and target a monthly revenue of Rs 1 crore.

Flutrr | Multilingual, Safe, and Inclusive Dating App

Founded by Kaushik Banerjee and Anirban Banerjee, Flutrr is a multilingual, safe, and inclusive Dating App that enables users to experience online dating in their preferred language(s). The dating app, which is available in 16 Indian languages, uses a new-gen matching algorithm that is based on ancient Indian and Vedic sciences of Astrology and Numerology.

Speaking about the development, Kaushik Banerjee, Co-Founder of Flutrr, stated that Flutrr transcends the typical dating app and is on a mission to empower small-town youth to embrace their freedom to select their romantic partners in the language of their roots.

Banerjee added,

As per Anirban Banerjee, Co-Founder and CMO of Flutrr, the vernacular dating app wants to bring back romance by creating more deep and meaningful connections. With its value proposition, which lies in its focus on connecting small-town India, Flutrr enables young individuals to connect with potential romantic partners in their native tongues, facilitating deeper and more meaningful connections.

Commenting on the development, Vikas Chawla, Investment Director from The Chennai Angels, highlighted that the Indian dating ecosystem is evolving not just in India but also in Bharat, underscoring the youth living in small towns.

Chawla said,

With over 600,000 downloads, the startup claims to have an active user base exceeding 400,000 and is on course to achieve a break-even point by March 2024.
