Nykaa Acquires D2C Skincare Brand Dot & Key Ahead Of IPO

Nykaa, a Beauty and fashion eCommerce platform, has announced the acquisition of the Indian D2C skincare brand Dot & Key Wellness.
The acquisition of Dot & Key Wellness is the first D2C (direct to consumer) beauty brand acquired by Nykaa. Additionally, as part of the deal, Dot & Key will join Nykaa’s stable of owned brands.
Speaking on the development, Falguni Nayar, Founder and CEO of Nykaa, said,

Started by Anisha Saraf and Suyash Saraf, Dot & Key is a new age brand focused on providing solutions to skincare concerns and is bringing the ‘CARE’ back to skincare.
Offering premium skincare products like serums, cleansers, face masks, and toners, the Indian D2C skincare brand has recently expanded into nutraceuticals under the brand ‘IKWI’, whose products are dermatologically tested and cruelty-free.
Speaking on the acquisition, Suyash Saraf, Co-founder of Dot & Key, said,
“We created a niche brand with Dot & Key, focused on making products based on consumer needs. Our passion to differentiate ourselves has inspired us to take an unconventional angle to skincare. Nykaa’s position in the beauty landscape in India and its resources will allow Dot & Key to grow further as a brand and scale to the next level.”
The recent development comes days before beauty startup Nykaa has chosen to launch its three-day initial public offering (IPO) on October 28, raising up to Rs 5,200 crore through it. Nykaa is reportedly seeking a valuation of around $7.4 billion in the IPO.
