Newtral.io, a climatetech startup, has raised $78,032 (Rs 64 lakh) in a fresh funding round from Gurugram-based startup accelerator PedalStart. 

The startup plans to use the freshly raised funds for the development of its product portfolio focused on carbon accounting and sustainability reporting needs.

Founded by Avi Chudasama, Anuraag Paul and Vinod Sonagara in 2022, Newtral.io is an AI-enabled carbon accounting platform providing enterprise sustainability software to help organisations achieve net zero emissions. 

The Bengaluru-based startup enables businesses to track and mitigate their carbon emissions while implementing sustainable practices. 

Speaking about the development, Avi Chudasama, Co-founder and CEO of Newtral.io, said,

The climatetech startup is building tools that help organisations become carbon neutral and support data-driven climate action. Leveraging the platform, enterprises can effectively measure their carbon emissions, identify areas for emissions reduction, create custom dashboards, and seamlessly adopt sustainable practices. 

As per the startup, its platform has garnered significant recognition for its versatility and effectiveness, attracting diverse organisations with a sustainability focus.

The funding round was led by PedalStart, a Gurugram-based startup accelerator launched in 2021, which helps build founders through their startup ideas, with the help of ex-entrepreneurs, startup founders, domain experts and angel investors.

Recently, there has been an increased demand for startups operating in the climatetech sector across categories. In May 2023, climate technology startup Newtrace raised $5.65 million in a seed funding round led by Sequoia Capital India and Aavishkaar Capital.

Also, Ossus Biorenewables, a Bengaluru-based green energy startup, raised $ 2.4 million in a pre-Series A round from Gruhas and Rainmatter Climate.
