Thena, a leading customer communications and intelligence platform that helps businesses manage customers on messaging platforms like Slack, has raised $5 million (Rs 41.3 crore) in a seed funding round co-led by Lightspeed and First Round Capital.

As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for product development, market expansion as well as expanding the team.

Founded by Ankit Saxena, Govind Kavaturi, Satyavrat Bondre, Mike Molinet and Unmukt Raizada in 2022, Thena offers a customer engagement layer designed to help businesses acquire, service, and grow their B2B customers on messaging platforms like Slack and Teams.

The SaaS startup helps customer-facing teams manage customers in tools like Slack by detecting, tracking and measuring customer requests, along with providing analytics and insights into how customers are engaging with a company.

Speaking about the development, Ankit Saxena, CEO and Co-founder of Thena, said,

The platform enables companies to manage their customer channels at scale by keeping track of customer issues in messaging platforms, gaining visibility into customer interactions, and connecting those channels to other systems like Zendesk and Salesforce.

Thena sits between B2B organizations and their messaging platforms, converting them from mere messaging tools to a powerful communications system capable of improving performance across marketing, sales, and customer support. It counts organizations like Branch, WorkRamp, Embrace, Mixpanel, and Spotdraft as its client portfolio. In 2022, Thena raised $2.2 million in a pre-seed funding round from Pear VC and Tenacity Venture Capital.
