Agritech Startup Unnati To Hire 300 Employees, Plans To Increase uStores Across India

Unnati, a fintech powered agritech startup, has announced plans to expand its team size by adding 300 additional employees to its current 199-strong team by FY22. As per the startup, the team expansion will further drive its growth journey.

The agritech startup will be hiring at least 50 members in the technology division at various ranks. Unnati will also onboard senior members in the business & sales, finance, and agronomy verticals in the upcoming months.

Started by Ashok Prasad and Amit Sinha in 2017, Unnati is a fintech based agri platform that empowers farmers with digital technologies to bring efficiencies in their farm business. The startup, through its services like Unnati banking and crop-specific advisory, reaches out to the farmer at every step of the farming lifecycle and works with them to create a sustainable future.

Speaking on the development, Ashok Prasad, Co-founder of Unnati, said,

“In the last two years, Unnati, much like businesses in other verticals, has changed radically. Keeping the importance of proper work-life balance to enhance an employee’s overall productivity, we have created workplace flexibility at Unnati. The idea is to protect and support employees through the toughest of situations.”

As per the startup, it has clocked 10X revenue growth in the last six months. Additionally, agritech startup Unnati has already established a wide-ranging network of over 15,000 uStores in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Maharashtra. The startup also plans to increase that number to 1,00,000 uStores across India to strengthen its foothold in the agritech.
