This week, from December 4 to December 8, several Indian startups across categories raised funds. We will share a few of these funding updates and provide details about how the startups will use these funds.
DigitalPaani | Water Management Startup
DigitalPaani, a water management startup, has raised $1.2 million in funding from Elemental Excelerator, SAE, DevC, Enzia, Peer Cheque, and Bharat Founders Fund. The funding round also saw participation from angel investors, including Ashish Goel (Founder of Urban Ladder) and Delhivery cofounder Mohit Tandon.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to scale its technology to more wastewater treatment plants across India. The raised funds will also enable the startup to explore future markets and unlock additional sales channels.
Founded by father-daughter duo Mansi Jain and Rajesh Jain, DigitalPaani offers cutting-edge IoT and digital management tools that redesign wastewater operations to protect natural resources and build clean cities with abundant water.
Its Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled platform automates plants to treat wastewater, reduce downtime, and enable water reuse. The platform comprehensively detects issues using custom-made sensors and 75+ algorithms, launches automated workflows for service teams, and gives maintenance recommendations.
Scimplifi | B2B Platform for Sourcing and Manufacturing Specialty Chemicals
Scimplifi, a business-to-business (B2B) platform for sourcing and manufacturing specialty chemicals, secured $3.7 million (Rs 30.6 crore) in seed funding from institutional investors 3one4 Capital and Beenext.
The funding round also saw participation from undisclosed angel investors from the chemical industry and the B2B commerce space.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to expand its manufacturing, hire talent, and for research and development (R&D).
Founded by Salil Srivastava and Sachin Santhosh, Scimplifi is a B2B science-first platform for all sourcing and manufacturing of specialty chemicals.
The platform serves customers globally across industries like pharmaceutical, agrochemical, and personal care to identify, develop, source, and manufacture chemicals from lab to commercial scale.
All Trak | B2B SaaS platform for Healthcare Businesses
AllTrak, a B2B SaaS platform for healthcare business, bagged $503,937 (Rs 4.2 crore) in a pre-Series A funding round from early-stage investor Inflection Point Ventures (IPV).
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for team expansion, and improvement of its technology stack and logistics network.
Founded by Amit Gupta and Tarun Sharma in 2021, AllTrak is a B2B SaaS platform that offers end-to-end solutions to diagnostic companies.
The startup offers industry-specific products to empower small to mid-size diagnostic companies and provides single-point patient data entry and integration across platforms to reduce the turnaround time of diagnostics.
Operating in around 50 cities, AllTrak offers pan India shared logistics network and phlebotomist network to healthcare companies to serve their patients. Engaging with around 3,000 healthcare professionals, the B2B SaaS platform claims to track and monitor 7 lakh patient samples per month.
Biryani By Kilo | Biryani Chain
Biryani By Kilo, a biryani and kebab chain, raised around $9 million (Rs 75 crore) in a Series C round.
Biryani By Kilo was founded by Kaushik Roy in 2015. In addition to biryani, the food brand offers kebabs, korma, and bread. Operated by Sky Gate Hospitality Pvt.Ltd, the food brand has a presence in regions including Delhi-NCR, Kolkata, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Bengaluru.
In 2016, Vishal Jindal joined the brand as a co-founder. In November 2021, Biryani By Kilo raised $35 million in funding led by Falcon Edge.
CoreEL | Systems Engineering & Technology Solutions
CoreEL Technologies, a Bengaluru-based aerospace and defence products manufacturer, bagged $16 million ( ₹133.4 crores) in fresh funding from 360 ONE Asset Management Ltd (formerly IIFL Asset Management Ltd).
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for research and development (R&D), product expansion, and increasing manufacturing capacity.
CoreEL is a systems engineering & technology solutions firm that designs, manufactures, and supplies advanced electronic products and complex systems to the Indian aerospace and defence industry, including the Ministry of Defence.
It is a leading developer of advanced electronic system-level products for defence & aerospace, Digital Video Broadcast, HPC (High-Performance Computing), and the higher education markets.
As per the firm, its products have been deployed in India’s radars, electronic warfare, missiles, avionics, and sound navigation and ranging (SONAR), among others.
Navadhan | Rural NBFC Catering to MSMEs
Navadhan, a fintech startup, bagged $5 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by early-stage investor Prime Venture Partners. Existing investors Varanium NexGen Fintech Fund and Gemba Capital, also participated in the funding round.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to improve its technology platform and scale its distribution and service delivery model.
Founded by Nitin Agrawal, Vijay Haswani, Anirudh Ramakuru, and Amit Biswal, Navadhan is a rural NBFC catering to MSMEs and counts lenders like Ugro, Caspian, Unitus, Vivriti, Northern Arc, and TruCap, as part of its network.
The startup helps micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to secure loans from institutions like NBFCs and banks.
VoiceClub | Audio Consultancy Platform
VoiceClub, an audio consultancy platform, raised $700,000 (Rs 6.2 crore) in a seed funding round led by Better Capital. Several undisclosed angel investors and TDV Partners, Blume Founder’s Fund, Sunn91, and Astir Ventures also participated in the funding round.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for product development and the expansion of the platform.
Founded by Ayush Singh, Mohammed Wasim Ali, and Azhar Rabbani, VoiceClub is an audio consultancy platform offering on-demand audio consulting services in different categories like astrology, legal, and love, amongst others.
As per the startup, it recorded an annual recurring revenue (ARR) of $300,000. Claiming to currently have a user base of around 30,000 paid subscribers, the audio consultancy platform aims to achieve $2 million in the next 12-18 months.
