Healthtech Startup Fitterfly Raises $12 Million In Series A Funding

Fitterfly, a healthtech startup, has raised $12 million in a Series A funding round led by Amazon Smbhav Venture Fund and Fireside Ventures. The funding round also saw participation from 9 Unicorns, Venture Catalysts, Nihar Parikh of 4point0 Health Ventures, and Sriram Natarajan of Molbio.
As per the startup, the raised funds will be used to enhance its technology stack and branding and improve the reach of its diabetes management digital therapeutics programme- Diabefly.

Founded by Arbinder Singal and Shailesh Gupta, Fitterfly is a Mumbai-based healthtech startup that offers innovative & integrated wellness programs specialising in Digital Therapeutics (DTx).
Speaking on the development, Dr Arbinder Singal, CEO and Co-Founder of Fitterfly, said,
“This funding will help us strengthen our research, launch new verticals in the heart health space and grow our customer base by reaching out to people living with diabetes as well as the universe of doctors and organisations in the field of chronic disease management.”

Fitterfly’s DTx programs combine human & technological interventions to cater to every patient’s specific needs to improve outcomes. Its current product suite includes scientific & hyper-personalised DTx programs for prediabetes, diabetes & obesity.
As per the startup, it has managed over 20,000 patients until now through a 360-degree care approach and clinically prescribed therapy by more than 200 doctors across India. This funding round, which follows a $3.1 million pre-Series A round Fitterfly announced last year in April, takes the total amount raised by the startup to $16.6 million to date.
Healthtech And India
India is among the fastest-growing destinations for healthtech investments. Over the last five years, healthtech investments by VCs in India have surged ten times ($190 million in 2016).
In 2022, several healthtech startups, including Bengaluru-based connected healthtech platform Eka Care, Mumbai-based telehealth platform Truemeds, Gurugram-based Curelink, and Bengaluru-based Dozee, had raised funds.
