Indian Funding News

Apnaklub, a B2B wholesale platform for FMCG, has announced that it has raised $3.5 million in a seed round from Sequoia Capital India’s Surge.

As per the startup, it will use the funding to expand across more rural areas in India and increase its range of services and products for its partners.

Founded by Manish Kumar and Shruti in July 2020, Apnaklub is a Bengaluru-based B2B wholesale platform for FMCG supporting independent businesses and retail entrepreneurs with better than market wholesale prices and supply chain. Additionally, the startup provides wholesalers across the country with digital tools to cater to the hyper-local needs of shopkeepers and large families around them.

Speaking on the development, Shruti, Founder and CEO of Apnaklub, said,

“At Apnaklub, we’re going beyond providing an organised supply of FMCG goods to semi-urban and rural areas. Our mission is to equip people across India with the means to set up their own hyper-local micro-distribution businesses by providing them with better profit margins, access to a large assortment of brands and ensuring supply consistency. We’re empowering people to take charge of their livelihoods.”

Apnaklub, through its services, is helping Kirana owners who are often unable to meet a minimum quantity or purchase amount to buy from the distributors. The startup addresses this gap by connecting wholesale agents to provide Kirana stores with a wider range of SKUs, no minimum order quantity, and competitive prices.

Apnaklub provides unorganised ground-level wholesalers with an organised supply infrastructure with the best pricing and consistent product availability. The B2B wholesale platform claims to have serviced over 2500+ partners across 4500 pin codes.
