Indian short video-sharing app Chingari has raised $1.3 million in a seed funding round.


The funding round was led by AngelList India, Jasminder Singh Gulati of NowFloats, Utsav Somani’s iSeed, Village Global, LogX Ventures, and some other venture capitalists.

As per the startup, it plans to use the funding amount to accelerate product development by hiring more talent, ramp up the platform, and make it more engaging and consumer-focussed.

The startup also plans to engage a larger consumer base by offering a seamless short video entertainment experience.

Founded by Biswatma Nayak and Siddharth Gautam, Chingari has a userbase of 25-million users and more than 3 million daily active users.

Also, this Indian short video-sharing app recently emerged as the top winner in the ‘Social’ category of the ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat App Innovation Challenge.’
