Fighting Air Pollution, Gurugram-based Startup E-POLLUTION Is Notifying People When Their Vehicle Pollution Certificate Is About To Expire

Air pollution in our country is a serious health issue, and with increasing automobile users, the level of air pollution in India is rising.
As per the International Council on Clean Transportation (ICCT), transportation sources account for approximately a third of particulate matter pollution in India. In 2020, India was ranked 3rd as the world’s most polluted country 2020, with automobiles playing a major role in it.
Though the government is trying its best to accelerate the EV movement in India, a lot of people pay no attention to the rising pollution and even forget to get their vehicle pollution check on time and drive vehicles whose emission is not within permissible levels.
To solve this issue, Gurugram-based startup E-POLLUTION, through its app, is notifying users when their vehicle pollution is about to expire and facilitating them to get it done through the app.
E-POLLUTION | Vehicle Pollution Expiry Notification App

Founding Team
Founded by Aditya Bobal and Shikhar Swaroop, E-POLLUTION is a vehicle pollution expiry notification app that auto reminds users when their vehicle pollution is about to expire.
As per the founders, it is India’s only Vehicle Pollution Expiry Notification App that keeps users informed and enables them to get their PUC (Pollution under Control) certificate on time.
Thought Behind Starting E-POLLUTION
Aditya and Shikhar started E-POLLUTION to reduce the air pollution caused by people who forget to get their vehicle pollution check on time and drive their vehicle whose emission is not within permissible levels.
Speaking with ThestartupLab, Aditya says,
“Vehicles are the most common cause of air pollution, and we have studied, more than 5 million vehicles have been fined (2016-2020) for not having a valid Pollution check certificate with them. This is all because 9 out of 10 people don’t remember their PUC expiry date. They forgot to get the pollution check on time, resulting in getting fined by traffic police for not having a valid PUC certificate.”
So, to keep people updated with their PUC certificate status so that they don’t get fined for their negligence, Aditya And Shikhar started E-POLLUTION.
E-POLLUTION APP and Future Plans
E-POLLUTION not only notifies people about the expiry date of their PUC certificate but facilitates them to get it done through the app. The startup is presently focussing on onboarding more users onto the platform and is working on a freemium model presently, stated the founders.
Operating via its beta version presently, the startup is yet to launch the android and iOS versions of the app.
As per Aditya, E-POLLUTION is at the final stages of launching the app, and soon users will be able to book their slot for PUC (Pollution under Control) certificate from the app.
The startup has an aggressive expansion plan but is presently focussing on the Gurugram area. With more users on the platform, E-POLLUTION will soon expand to more cities, stated Aditya.
