The exercise is aimed at promoting competition among states to improve the business environment in India to attract domestic as well as foreign investments.
And, in the recently released 2019 rankings, released on September 5 by the DPIIT, Andhra Pradesh has topped the rankings for the third time in a row.
Also, Uttar Pradesh occupied the second spot in 2019. The state was ranked 12th in 2018.
Coming back to the news, Guruprasad Mohapatra, DPIIT Secretary, said that the ease of doing business ranking of states and UTs would be released by March 2021.
Guruprasad Mohapatra said,
“We have started the exercise already. We have communicated the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) for next year with the states/UTs, which they have to implement.”
