Actress Anita Hassanandani Led Better Beauty Raises $200K From Lotus Herbals

Better Beauty, a D2C skincare startup led by TV Actress Anita Hassanandani, has raised $200K from the Indian cosmetic brand Lotus Herbals.
The D2C startup plans to utilise the funds for brand marketing, research and development, and growing its offline presence. Further, Better Beauty plans to use the fresh capital to expand the team, enhance product offerings, and make acquisitions.

Co-founded by Anita Hassanandani, Naina Ruhail, and Ritambra Das in 2022, Better Beauty is a luxurious, sustainable and honestly crafted skincare brand on a mission to deliver clean and conscious products that are biocompatible, pure, potent and proven to work.
Its new-age skincare line provides highly effective blends of products to the wellness and environmentally-conscious consumer and offers a range of skincare products, such as moisturiser, face serum, and face cleanser.
Speaking about the development, Anita Hasnandani, Co-founder of Better Beauty, said,
“Consumers today are looking beyond marketing claims and are seeking efficacy-based skincare products. My journey in the entertainment industry has been a lot about connecting with my viewers, and that is also my vision with Better Beauty.”

The D2C brand aims to achieve Rs 7.2 Cr annual revenue rate (ARR) and grow its product portfolio up to 10 in a year. It sells products via its website and ecommerce marketplace–Vanity Wagon.
The brand claims to have delivered products to over 10K customers so far. Better Beauty further plans to foray into international markets and create an exclusive product line based on new cell technologies employed in the skincare segment.
As per Naina Ruhail, Co-founder of Better Beauty, the startup plans to focus on expanding its product catalogue, marketing budgets and increasing our offline presence across the country. It will also enable them to penetrate deeper markets and create and formulate some pathbreaking products.
Last week, Lotus Herbals Private Limited co-led the pre-series A funding round in Vanity Wagon, raising around $2 million. The round also saw participation from Inflection Point Ventures, Venture Catalysts, and other high-net-worth individuals (HNIs).
