Wheelocity | Building The Rails For India’s Fresh Supply Chain
Founded by Selvam VMS, along with co-founders Amresh Singh and Senthil Kumar, in September 2021, Wheelocity is a B2B F&V supply chain startup that is reshaping the architecture of the fresh produce market through supply networks powered by technology.
Speaking about the development, Selvam VMS, Founder and CEO, Wheelocity, said,
“India is a fresh-food surplus country. Despite that, while, on one hand, we dump/lose hundreds of thousands of tonnes of F&V every day due to supply chain inefficiencies, on the other hand, studies indicate more than 33 million Indians are undernourished. Clearly, there is a massive problem to be solved by building the rails for fresh produce in India, and we are excited to be backed by Lightspeed and Anicut to solve this at scale.”

The startup has created an integrated network including collection centers, distribution centers, dark stores, and first mile & mid mile logistics to establish a fast-moving and optimized supply chain for fresh produce such as fruits, vegetables, dairy products, poultry, and meat.
Wheelocity, since its inception, has become operational in 12+ cities, handling around 700 tonnes of F&V every day. Its list of clients includes- Swiggy Instamart, Dunzo, Ninjacart, and Blinkit, among others, keeping wastage at a minimum.
Over the next 12 months, Wheelocity wants to expand its reach to over 30 more Indian cities.
