Shuttl Starts Testing International Market Expansion With Thailand

Shuttl, a mobile app-based office commute bus aggregator, has started testing the overseas market amidst disruption in operations because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

First reported by Entrackr, a source gave information regarding Shuttl’s expansion plan and said,

A source on condition of anonymity said,

“Shuttl has been preparing for the launch in Bangkok for the past few months. It has hired close to half a dozen to form a local team.”

The expansion has come at a time when Shuttl and mobility businesses across the globe have been hit severely by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Started in 2015 by Amit Singh and Deepanshu Malviya, Shuttl is India’s largest office commute service provider. The startup is working with a mission of solving the pain of commute and offers a space-efficient, safe, and cost-effective solution.

Coming back to the news, another source gave info regarding this situation and said, 

“Shuttl’s existing investor Toyota is strong in Thailand, and it has been helping the company in raising local support and team.”

Sources have said that the company has recovered to some extent in terms of business in the past three-four months. But it’s business is still below 50% in comparison to the pre-Covid peak.
