Parker Harris discusses startups, job creation with Piyush Goyal
Co-founder and chief technology officer of Salesforce, Parker Harris met with India’s Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal.
This is Parker Harris’s first visit to India. In the meeting, Parker spoke about Salesforce’s India operations, plans for job creation and the startup ecosystem in India.
On the matter of India planning a Personal Data Protection Bill, Goyal told the Salesforce team that a committee of the Parliament is studying the draft Bill.

Parker Harris was also part of the industry roundtable in the morning.
Some members of the Parliament, along with Baijayant Panda (vice-president of the Bhartiya Janata Party) were present during the meeting.
Issues like Data Localization and personal data protection Bill were discussed.
