OYO Founder Ritesh Agarwal Invests In E-Sports Startup ‘Mobile Premier League’

Fantasy sports platform Mobile Premier League or MPL has raised $500K from Ritesh Agarwal’s (Oyo’s founder) RA MPL Holding.

First reported by Entrackr, the investment from RA MPL Holding is a part of MPL’s Series B round that was led by SIG Global.

Numerous well-known angels including Haresh Chawla, Pawan Kumar Ongle, Amrish Rau, Jitendra Gupta, Shubham Gupta and Gaurav Munjal, had also invested in the company.

Founded in September 2018, MPL is a mobile e-Sports platform based in India. The startup works with third-party developers and then publishes their game on the platform where users can participate in skill-based games including cricket, puzzles, chess and crossword to win cash prizes.

With a presence in Indonesia also, the esports platform has claimed a 100% surge in downloads. As per the startup, it has grown to over 60 plus games and six crore users.
