OnMobile Global Invests In Homegrown Short Video App Chingari

Chingari announces actor Salman Khan as a global brand ambassador and investor.

Chingari, a video-focused social media platform, has raised $13 million (Rs 95 crore) in its latest funding round led by OnMobile Global.

The round also saw participation from Astarc Ventures, Republic Labs US, White Star Capital, ProfitBoard Ventures, JPIN Venture Catalysts, and some UK-based large family office funds.

With this deal, OnMobile will integrate its ONMO gaming platform into the Chingari app. OnMobile will also collaborate with Chingari on other product integrations.

Speaking on the development, Aditya Kothari, Co-founder and chief strategy officer of Chingari, said,

“We are thrilled to have Krish Seshadri (CEO of OnMobile) join our board at Chingari. His vast experience on various products like Facebook and Zynga adds great value.”

Chingari is an Indian short video app that allows people to create and upload videos in more than 12 multiple languages, including English and Hindi. The platform has recently announced actor Salman Khan as a global brand ambassador and investor.
