Supernova, a startup that offers Live quizzes & interactive gamified formats on CBSE math topics, has raised $1.1 Million in pre-seed funding led by Lumikai, India’s most active gaming & interactive media VC.

The funding round also saw participation from Kae Capital, All In Capital, Goodwater Capital & strategic angel investors like Nandan Reddy and Phani Kishan (Founders of Swiggy), and Nitin Gupta (Founder of PayU and Uni).

As per the startup, the raised funds will be used to further develop and scale the product to incorporate multiplayer formats, strengthen its leadership team and deploy strategies that will amplify product lead user acquisition over the next 18 months.

Founded by Anirudh Coontoor, Maharishi RB, and Nawin Krishna in 2021, Supernova aims to redefine the current passive forms of learning by providing super fun & engaging live quizzes, byte-sized lessons & worksheets on CBSE topics for Classes 1-8.

The startup is focused on bringing interactivity to the worksheet and math practice use case for younger kids.

Speaking about the development, Maharishi RB, Co-Founder of Supernova, said,

As per Maharishi, their product is an ultra-fresh take on ed-tech that leverages the power of interactivity & systems of play. And the startup is rethinking everything from pedagogies to price points to distribution channels.
