To evaluate the government’s Startup India programme and attract investments in Indian startups, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has shortlisted four companies.

These four companies are KPMG Advisory Service, Grant Thornton India, Ernst & Young, and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

DPIIT said that these four companies “were found to be qualified and accordingly it was decided to call them for technical presentation”.

The Indian government envisions to be among the top 50 countries in the global Ease of Doing Business rankings.

And to make this possible, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA) has also decided to simplify the registration process of startups.

Also to simplify the deductions from companies, the government is taking various steps. Like, in ‘starting a business’ areas, the government plans to incorporate GST, EPFO, ESIC and professional tax with company registration under a single platform.

India also managed to improve its positions in the EoDB ranking list  from 77th position in 2019 to 63rd in 2020 (World Bank’s Doing Business 2020 report).
