Indian Short Video Platform ‘Bolo Indya’ Raises $300,000 In Pre-Series A1 Funding

Indian short video platform Bolo Indya has raised $300,000 in a Pre-Series A1 funding round led by Eagle10 Ventures, India Accelerator, and HNIs.

The funding round also saw participation from Sunil Kamath, ex-CBO of Sharechat, and ex-SVP of Opera.

As per the startup, it plans to use the funds to improve its personalization and recommendation engine.


Bolo Indya also plans to strengthen its team, broaden, and accelerate product development.

Founded by Varun Saxena in 2019, Bolo Indya is a Gurugram-based vernacular content creation and discovery user-generated content Platform.

Talking about the mission of the company, Varun Saxena said,

“We are on a mission to leverage the power of short videos, peer to peer commerce and network effect to empower every content creator of Bharat to go viral in the shortest span of time and be able to monetize by leveraging the social capital.”

Currently, the app has over 40 lakh monthly active users, and they can create and share short videos in 12 Indian regional languages– Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Tamil, Odia, Telugu, Bengali, Malayalam, Bhojpuri, Haryanvi, Punjabi, and Kannada.
