Portl Founder: Indraneel Gupta and Vishal Chandapeta
Indian Funding News

Portl, a Hyderabad-based home fitness and wellness startup, has raised an undisclosed amount in its seed round of funding from Kalaari Capital.

As per the startup, it will use the funds raised to grow the team across hardware, engineering, and AI domains and expand the sales and marketing efforts for the Portl range of products in India.

Started by Indraneel Gupta and Vishal Chandapeta in March 2021, Portl is an Intelligent Home Mirror with applications spanning healthcare, fitness and wellness.

It is a ubiquitous AI-powered multi-functional, smart fitness and health system, with form-feedback, telemedicine and embedded health monitoring capabilities.

Speaking about the startup, Indraneel Gupta said,

“At Portl, we are reimagining the way people will access, manage, and control their overall health. In many ways, the hardware and software that we are building will empower people to take charge of their own health and fitness, while we provide personalised and holistic services to support their efforts.”

The startup has developed two products – the Portl Mirror and the Portl Pro, expected to be available for consumers later this year. Both products use advanced AI to provide real-time exercise form analysis and correction feedback, ensuring each exercise is performed using the correct technique and helps prevent injuries.

The products are built using the proprietary Portl Smart Mirror platform, providing a wide range of personalised workouts, nutrition, and mental wellness programmes.
