When COVID-19 cases are on an increase in India, a Bengaluru-based biotech startup has come up with a rapid at-home screening kit for COVID-19.

Biotech startup Bione has launched a COVID-19 at-home screening test kit. And as per the company claims, its testing kit is easy to use, helps in early screening and displays accurate results within minutes.

Founded in 2019 by Dr Surendra K Chikara, Bione is a Bengaluru-based Biotech startup.

Coming back to the testing kit, the company said that under normal circumstances, the kits can be received within 2-3 days of placing the order on their platform.

Explaining how the screening test kit works, Bione said the kit is an IgG and IgM-based device.

For COVID-19 testing, the user has to clean their finger with an alcohol swab and use the lancet provided to finger-prick.

And from the blood sample, the results are obtained within 5-10 minutes.

Though, irrespective of the results obtained from this screening kit, Bione urged people to undergo a laboratory test if someone shows symptoms of coronavirus. To keep matters on the safer side, a thorough follow-up on positive test results is required.
