As per a TechCrunch report, tech giant Google and Snapchat’s parent company are in advanced stages to infuse more than $200 million in ShareChat’s Series E round at a valuation of more than $1 billion. 

Already backed by Twitter, if this deal finalises, ShareChat will have three tech giants and two social media giants as its backers.

As of September, ShareChat had exceeded over 160 million MAUs ()monthly active users). And the average daily time spent by users on the platform is 31 minutes.

In November,  reports of a potential acquisition of ShareChat by Google were in the air.

However, it seems like the talks have fallen through as Google had made back to back investments ShareChat’s competitors — Dailyhunt and InMobi’s Glance in December. 

Both Dailyhunt and InMobi are a direct competitor to ShareChat’s Moj with their separate short video apps — Josh and Roposo.
