Easy Spirit Enterprises Pvt. Ltd, which operates D2C sustainable footwear brand CHUPPS, has raised $1.5 million in its pre-series A funding round from Green Frontier Capital and other lead investors.

The funding round also saw participation from Gunavanth Vaid from 4G Capital, and Kaushal Vora from Genesis Packaging, among others. Also, Soumitra Dutta, Founding Advisor of Green Frontier Capital and Dean Elect at the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, has been appointed to the CHUPPS Board of Advisors.

As per the startup, the funds will be used to increase penetration, expand into new markets, and develop high-quality, fashionable, and sustainable products.

CHUPPS | D2C Sustainable Footwear Brand

Founded by Gaurav Agarwal and Yashesh Mukhi in 2021, CHUPPS is a D2C sustainable footwear brand offering quintessential flip flops in cool and quirky reimagined avatars. Their products are 100% vegan, free of any plastic, and the company uses natural rubber in many of its products.

Speaking about the development, Soumitra Dutta, Founding adviser at Green Frontier Capital, said,

Growth Over The Years

Since 2017, the D2C brand has sold over 180,000 units of flip flops at 200+ A-grade Points-of-Sale/offline locations across India, with more doors being -added every month. The sustainable footwear brand is launching a sustainable sneaker and outdoor wear for both women and men with products made from sustainable materials. 

CHUPPS has claimed to develop a unique technology of blending natural tree fibers with recycled materials to create an upcycled sneaker which is lightweight, super comfortable and stylish. The startup is launching a sustainable sneaker in September this year.
