Cheelizza, a Mumbai-based pure vegetarian pizza chain, has raised Rs 4.11 crore in a seed funding round led by Indian Angel Network investors.

These investors include Hari Balasubramanian, Uday Chatterjee, Deval Tibrewal, and Rajeev Sarda. Co-investors Sagar Daryani, Founder of Wow! Momo, Karan Tanna (Founder of Ghost Kitchens), and Rahul Surana, Principal at an international fund, also participated in the funding round.

As per the startup, the raised funds will be utilised to expand its presence in Mumbai by opening 20 stores over the next one year. The Mumbai-based pizza chain plans to open 100 stores by 2025.

Speaking about the development, Animesh Lodha, Founder of Cheelizza, said,

As per Animesh, Cheelizza has been operating in stealth mode over the last 10 years, focused on building the business on strong fundamentals. 

Cheelizza is the first step towards building a portfolio of pure Vegetarian food brands offering an alternative choice to a large vegetarian population, Animesh added.
