Game Streaming Platform Rooter

This game streaming and e-sports platform extensively cover games such as Free Fire, Valorant, BGMI, and Call of Duty through its streamers and e-sports tournaments. Around one million unique users create gaming content on the Rooter platform every month.

India’s gaming market is set to become $7 billion in FY2026 (more than 3X of the market in FY2021), as per a report by Lumikai and Redseer. The report also highlighted that in-app purchases are the fastest growing revenue streams of the gaming market.

Speaking on the gaming ecosystem, Sid Talwar, partner at Lightbox, said,

“Gaming is the future of social media for the next generation. 92% of Gen Z and millennials play games. And these ‘gamers’ are more engaged, more invested and far more eager to contribute to gaming platforms than any traditional social media user today.”

As per the startup, users spend 35 minutes on average on the app. Additionally, about 2.5 million streamers have joined Rooter since July 2021, and around 3% of monthly users spend about Rs 12 a month on the app.
