Uber India preparing to expand its Electric Vehicles Fleet
To get dominance in the EV (electric vehicles) ecosystem, Uber India is preparing to expand its fleet of electric vehicles. Presently with 350 electric vehicles, Uber India is projecting to reach 1,500 EVs by the end of the year 2020.
The Indian unit of Uber is planning to form strategic partnerships with domestic startups and companies. And possibly, Uber may continue some on-going tie-ups. Uber, in partnership with SUN Mobility, has an ongoing pilot project related to electric autos in Chandigarh. Apart from that, Uber also partnered with the Bengaluru-based dockless bicycle-sharing platform, Yulu.
CEO of Uber India and South Asia, Pradeep Parameswaran sees India as a growing market. And due to this growth, Uber will continue to partner with the automobile industry and startups to launch new products, especially in the e-mobility segment.
