Tata Power is looking to set up more electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
Tata Power is looking to set up more electric vehicle (EV) charging stations within the next year. CEO and MD of Tata Power, Praveer Sinha, said that the company would set up 700 new chargers for homes and public areas.
As per Praveer Sinha, Tata Power would set up charging stations in public areas like theatres, metro stations, shopping malls, and highways. Retail outlets owned by Tata Group, like Croma, Taj chain of hotels, Westside, and Titan are also under the proposal for establishing charging stations there.
30 EV charging points have been set up so far in Mumbai. The number is expected to increase to 200 by 2021.
Shailesh Chandra, President of Tata Motors (e-mobility business), said (Last month),
“As far as Tata Motors is concerned, we want to establish ourselves as leaders in the EV space. We have taken up the mission that we should be ahead in terms of EV technology.”
With these statements and ongoing business moves, it is clear that Tata Group wants to become the largest player in e-mobility space.
