Online Restaurant Company ‘Rebel Foods’ Picks Up 14% Stake In ‘FoodyBuddy’
Rebel Foods, an Indian online restaurant company, has picked up a 14% stake in hyperlocal food networking firm FoodyBuddy.
As per regulatory filings, Rebel Foods has invested Rs 5 crore in FoodyBuddy, taking its stake to 26% in the Prime Venture Partners-backed food networking platform.
Founded by Akil Sethuraman, Rachna Rao and Anup Gopinath, FoodyBuddy connects home chefs to consumers in their vicinity.
Rebel Foods, on the other hand, has been able to emerge as a leader in the full stack foodtech space. With more than 300 cloud kitchens, Rebel Foods is the largest cloud kitchen restaurant chain in India.
Also, the online restaurant company operates 11 cloud kitchen brands including Behrouz Biryani, Oven Story and Mandarin Oak.
In addition to its app, the company generates close to 60% of its demand through marketplaces – Zomato, UberEats and Swiggy.
