As Amazon Launches Pay Later, WhatsApp Plans To Enter Lending Market In India
With WhatsApp Payments still figuring out ways for a full rollout in the Indian market, WhatsApp is planning to offer a new service. This messaging app by Facebook is now working on entering the lending space in India.
As accessed by TechCrunch, in its recent filing in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, WhatsApp Payments has listed credit as one of its business plans for India.
Though, it is not yet clear what services Whatsapp would be offering- personal loans to consumers or providing credit for customers looking to fund purchases through its payments platform.
Meanwhile, Amazon India is a step ahead and is offering instant credit on purchase from their website via its ‘Amazon Pay Later’ credit service.
Using this service, Indian customers can avail zero-interest credit to buy essential products or to pay bills.
