Edtech Startup Quizizz Raises $12.5 Million In Series A Funding
Quizizz, an Edtech startup with markets in India and the US, has raised $12.5 million in a Series-A funding round led by Eight Roads Ventures.
The funding round also saw participation from GSV Ventures, Rocketship VC, and existing investors Nexus Venture Partners and Prime Venture Partners.
As per the startup, it will use the funds to expand its team to support the school and corporate customers and accelerate international user growth.
Founded by Ankit Gupta and Deepak Cheenath, Quizizz is a learning platform that uses gamified quizzes to help people learn or teach anything, on any device, in-person or remotely.
Talking about the platform, Ankit Gupta, Co-founder of Quizizz, said,
“Our focus on teacher-directed learning differentiates Quizizz from many Indian edtech startups providing independent study solutions and supplemental curriculum.”
In 2020, feedback from teachers affected by the pandemic prompted the edtech platform to expand its product offering.
Quizizz aims to continue building tools that make teachers’ work easier and give educators more time to provide personal support to their students.
The startup claims that the platform is used by more than 60 million people a month and is used in over 65% of US schools.
