Founded by Puneet Gupta, Clensta is a Gurugram-based startup working in the personal care and home care space with a focus on science & sustainability.
Extending across multiple categories of skincare, haircare, body care, wellness, fragrance and more, Clensta aims to penetrate households across the globe by providing better choices for its consumers.
Talking about the development, Parineeti Chopra tweeted,
“The time has come to do it all. The past 8 months have been an absolute roller coaster. I have made some significant changes in my career (and life). Positive, new, pattern-breaking, gutsy, impactful, and meaningful for me. Now, I am finally getting to do something that I have been wanting to do for 4 years but needed the right team to do it with. My education and business background have always made me want to do more than just act, and I am glad my crazy team and I now have the same vision for my dreams.”
Clensta aims to use technology to scale the personal-care segment and provide a personalised shopping experience to its customers & saving 7.7Bn consumers from inaccessible hygiene. The IIT-Delhi-backed startup began with products based on waterless technology (waterless body bath and shampoo) to enable bathing without the use of water.
With products ranging in price from Rs 299 to Rs 1199, the biotechnology-based startup incorporates market-first natural extracts, such as red aloe vera (22x more effective than standard aloe vera) and plant-based egg protein, into their goods, connecting their offerings with the philosophy of blending nature with technology.
Currently, its products are accessible on Nykaa, Flipkart, Amazon, and 20 other marketplaces across India, as well as 5000 General Trade (GT) and Modern Trade (MT) touchpoints, with aspirations to grow into over 50 cities.
In December 2021, Clensta raised Rs 20 crore in funding from Hem Angels part of Hem Securities Ltd, Inflection Point Ventures and Venture Catalysts.
As per a report study by Shiprocket, in collaboration with Praxis Global Alliance and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands are estimated to become a $60 billion industry by FY27.
