Sequoia India-backed online gaming platform Mobile Premier League is entering the U.S. market and has opened an office in New York to oversee operations in the region with a team of five people.

The development comes after MPL successfully completed two years in the Indonesian market. The online gaming platform claims to have hit five million registered users in Indonesia, offering over 30 games on its platform there.

Mobile Premier League will officially launch the MPL app on iOS and Android in the U.S. market with games like baseball and solitaire. As reported by ET, MPL will roll out new games and formats, such as synchronous gaming, in the market throughout the year.

Speaking about the development, Sai Srinivas, Co-founder of MPL, said,

“The massive influx of users that we have in India enables us to build formats that might not have developed in the US because it doesn’t have the same level of user base. That’s the advantage that we have, and this is the reason why we are carrying this advantage forward.”

As per Statista, mobile games revenue in the U.S. reached a record $10.73 Bn in revenue in 2020. And now, with its entry into the U.S. market, MPL looks forward to providing millions of players with a safe, fair and incredible gaming experience.
