Several Indian startups have raised funds across various categories from April 8 to April 12, including landscaping, climate tech, eyewear, etc. We will highlight six such transactions, including how these startups plan to use the raised capital.
Garden of Joy | Landscaping Services
Landscaping startup Garden of Joy has made headlines by raising Rs 84 lakh in a seed funding round from early-stage investment firm Inflection Point Ventures.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to expand operations in Bangalore and five additional cities. The startup also plans to use part of the raised capital to develop a design tool and vertically integrate through owning workshops for fabrication and civil work.
Founded by Sanyam Raheja, Garden of Joy provides affordable and high-quality landscaping services. Its landscaping services include lawns to terrace gardens, which are designed keeping in mind sustainability and environmental stewardship.
Currently, the startup offers landscaping services in and around Bangalore, Delhi, and Hyderabad, with plans to expand to all major cities in Karnataka, Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala.
Arrivae | Home Improvement Firm
Arrivae, a home improvement firm, secured Rs 21 crore from CaratLane founder Mithun Sacheti in an equity funding round. With this round, Sacheti will also be joining the home improvement firm.
As per the firm, the raised funds will enable it to go deeper into existing markets and strengthen its supply chain.
Founded by Yash Kela in 2018, Arrivae is a made-to-order furniture manufacturer and home improvement startup. It provides end-to-end, design-to-manufacturing services for home interiors and improvements.
Claiming to have a catalogue of over a million elements, Arrivae presently runs 11 stores and offers its services across Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gurugram, and Bengaluru.
EyeMyEye | Eyewear Platform
EyeMyEye, a full-stack eyewear platform, raised Rs 20.8 crore (approximately $2.5 million) in a new tranche as part of its pre-series A round co-led by RBA Finance & Investments and Ashish Ramesh Kacholia. The funding round also saw participation from Sachin Shah.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used to operate the business and achieve the pre-defined milestones.
Founded by Ganesh Iyer in 2021, EyeMyEye offers a range of customized eyeglasses, sunglasses, and other eyewear-related products. Operating through online and offline channels, EyeMyEye competes with the likes of Lenskart, Lens2Home, ClearDekho, and Cool Winks, among others.
Recykal | Climate Tech Startup
Recykal, a Hyderabad startup climate tech startup, bagged INR 110 crore (about $13 million) in a pre-Series B funding round from a Category II scheme led by 360 ONE Asset Management Limited. With this funding round, a few early-stage investors have exited the startup.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will enable it to drive further innovation in its technology, products, and solutions.
Founded by Anirudha Jalan, Abhishek Deshpande, and Abhay Deshpande in 2016, Recykal is a tech-driven solution provider for the waste management ecosystem. The cloud-based startup acts as a crucial intermediary within the waste management ecosystem and connects producers, waste generators, facilitators, and various stakeholders in the industry,
Providing solutions for sustainability and circularity, Recykal operates in multiple sectors, including metal, e-waste, plastic, paper, tyres, and batteries. With its network comprising over 400 brands, 500+ recyclers and co-processors, 10,000+ businesses, and 600+ urban local bodies, Recykal has processed 700,000 metric tons of waste to date.
In 2022, Recykal raised $22 million in funding from Morgan Stanley India.
Sprinto | Continuous Security & Compliance Platform
Sprinto, a security compliance automation platform, bagged $20 million in an equity funding round led by Accel. The funding round saw participation from existing investors Elevation Capital and Blume Ventures.
As per the startup, the raised capital will be used for research and development (R&D). The raised funds will also enable the startup to improve customer experience and expand into new markets.
Founded by Girish Redekar and Raghuveer Kancherla in 2020, Sprinto offers a comprehensive toolkit that helps SaaS companies navigate cyber risk and regulatory compliance requirements. This includes security frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, HIPAA, and PCI-DSS, as well as customized frameworks.
The startup claims to serve clients in more than 75 countries across various sectors such as financial services, technology, fintech, and healthcare.
Paytring | Payment Orchestration Platform
Paytring, a fintech startup, raised an undisclosed amount in a pre-seed funding round led by fintech firm Unlimit.
As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for product development, expanding its market reach, and gaining penetration. Further, the startup will use a part of the raised funds to acquire new customers.
Founded by Keshav Munjal and Debal Chakraborty, Paytring is a payment orchestration platform that helps online businesses and payment institutions manage their payment operations more efficiently.
The platform integrates payment providers and acquirers to bring a unified communication, control, and management interface, thereby reducing costs and improving the payment experience.
