Startup Story Fitterfly
Fitterfly

Fitterfly Founder

Founded by Dr Arbinder Singal, Jayesh Sawant and Shailesh Gupta, Fitterfly is a Mumbai-based health tech startup specialising in Digital Therapeutics (DTx).

Providing innovative & integrated wellness programs, the startup claims to offer 360-degree guidance on exercise, nutrition, sleep, stress, and other factors, which affect health outcomes.

How Fitterfly Started?

Dr Arbinder says it all started in 2010 when he was not able to perform surgeries for a few months due to a hand injury.

During that time, Dr Arbinder began learning more about the internet and digital business. He learned how healthcare could be advanced using digital technologies.

Dr Arbinder saw the issues people face in getting access to specialist doctors. So, he with his team first launched a telemedicine startup, MediAngels, which later got acquired by 1mg.

With time, he and his team learned more bout the sector, and in 2016, they launched Fitterfly to cater to the wellness of children.

Presently, Fitterfly offers personalised digital therapeutics programmes to manage several health conditions, including diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, PCOS/PCOD, and child wellness.

Speaking about Fitterfly’s business remodelling, Dr Arbinder says,

“The business change came in 2019 when I was diagnosed with prediabetes. I realised that while many players came up with diabetes monitoring and tracking solution, not many were helping the users understand what is causing increasing levels of sugar, or what kind of nutrition and exercise can help maintain the levels.”
