As part of Niti Aayog’s Atal Innovation Mission, Niti Aayog has launched Aatmanirbhar Bharat ARISE – Atal New India Challenges (ANIC).
The programme will support deserving Indian startups and MSMEs by providing funding support of up to INR 50 lakhs for 9-12 months.
The Aatmanirbhar Bharat ARISE – ANIC programme will comprise of 15 challenges and will be done in collaboration with the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), and four ministries — Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, and Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
ISRO and the four ministries will operate 3 challenges each, making a total of 15 challenges.
Each challenge in this 15 challenges programme will have two winners. Each winner will be eligible for a grant of up to ₹50 lakh, which will be given in three tranches.
Talking about this initiative, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, at the virtual launch for the challenge, said,
“MSMEs are the growth engine of the country, and there are a lot of expectations from them. I am sure this initiative will help identify and promote innovations necessary for boosting this sector.”
