BillionElectric, a Gujarat-based startup providing e-mobility as a service, has raised $10 million or around Rs 82 crore in a seed funding round and asset lease funding led by HNIs and family offices.

As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for its electric tarmac buses at Bengaluru international airport. The startup will also focus on developing a mid-mile heavy EV truck platform.

Founded by Kartikey Hariyani and Mustafa Wajid in 2019BillionElectric provides e-mobility as a service and aims to offer a wide range of services, including electric vehicles, charging infrastructure in collaboration with CHARGE+ZONE, and an integrated e-Mobility platform.

The Gujarat-based startup also plans to support commercial electric vehicles.

Speaking about the development, Kartikey Hariyani, Co-Founder, Chief Platform Architect, BillionElectric, said,

As per Mustafa Wajid, who is also the chief advisor for business and strategy of BillionElectric, the Gujarat-based startup is committed to spearheading the paradigm shift from molecules to electrons and thereby empowering intercity logistic companies to thrive in this evolving landscape by embracing our e-MaaS platform. The startup aims to accelerate the transition towards a greener, more sustainable future with a mission to deliver One Billion clean energy miles per year.

BillionElectric plans to focus on expanding its business operations, which includes a contract to increase services to 10 more airports across the country following the initial launch in Bengaluru in collaboration with Veera Vahana. Additionally, the startup will extend its support to commercial electric vehicles, facilitating zero emissions driven and efficient transportation of goods for large corporations.

CHARGE+ZONE is a tech-driven EV charging infrastructure firm founded by Kartikey Hariyani that specializes in B2B and B2C charging services on both dedicated and opportunity-based charging using a smart-grid network.

In March 2023, CHARGE+ZONE raised $54 million in equity and debt funding to expand the high-speed charging network in the country.
