Sprih, a carbon emission management platform, has made headlines by raising $3 million in a fresh funding round. The round was led by Leo Capital, an early-stage venture capital firm.

As per the startup, the freshly raised funds will be used for expanding globally on the sales front. Further, the raised funds will enable the startup to acquire talent for developing artificial intelligence (AI) models focusing on climate issues and expanding the network of partners.

Founded by Rohit Toshniwal, Akash Keshav, Hemant Joshi, and Ravi Singhal, Sprih is a carbon emission management platform offering its end-to-end software tool to businesses to simplify the process of measuring, benchmarking, and reporting emissions across their operations and supply chain.

The climate tech startup is reshaping corporate environmental sustainability with its advanced SaaS platform, aimed at guiding businesses to carbon neutrality with ease and efficiency.

Speaking about the development, Akash Keshav, Co-founder and Chief Executive of Sprih, highlighted that the startup is trying to bring all the climate data in one place. For that, Sprih is going to keep investing in research and product development.

Commenting on the development, Ravi Srivastava, Partner at Leo Capital, spoke about sustainability as a crucial part of businesses’ growth agenda. Srivastava said,

“With increasing top-down commitments towards net zero, sustainability is steadily becoming a crucial part of businesses’ growth agenda. However, without any prior framework, most companies struggle to develop a viable path to their sustainability goals.”

The carbon emission management platform plans to increase its customer base in India. It also aims to expand into Europe, the US, and other countries that have climate laws in place. According to the firm, which is currently piloting programs in the US, these countries have committed to reducing their carbon footprint. Only through sincere corporate action will there be a noticeable decrease in the carbon footprint, added the firm.

Currently, the carbon emission management platform serves more than 12 customers. Hero MotoCorp, Indigo Paints, Arvind SmartSpaces, Espi Industries, and InfoBeans are a few of its clients. The startup is also targeting around 40-50 customers globally.

Last month, The StartupLab reported that Varaha, a climate tech startup that helps offset greenhouse gas emissions, bagged $8.7 million as a part of its latest funding round.
