Unacademy Acquires TapChief

Bengaluru-based edtech unicorn Unacademy has acquired a majority stake in TapChief.

TapChief is a tech startup that provides the easiest way for businesses and professionals to connect with experts, on-demand.

Post the acquisition, TapChief will join the Unacademy Group with a valuation of Rs 100 crore. TapChief’s existing investors have now gotten an exit from the startup.

TapChief, on its website, stated,

“Our journey started in 2016 as college students with a mission to empower the modern professional with great technology. After empowering over 150,000+ solopreneurs to work with 250+ customers, driving over 20Cr+ in incomes, we’ll be starting a new chapter in our journey with one of India’s Unicorns!”

Founded by BITS Pilani alumni — Shashank Murali, Binay Krishna, and Arjun Krishna in 2016, TapChief currently has over 150,000 registered professionals, that collaborate with a host of experts from their chosen domains and take up short-term professional projects.

Talking about the acquisition, Shashank Murali, Co-founder and CEO of TapChief, said in the statement,
