Pepper Farms, an agritech startup, has raised $1 million (around Rs 7.39 crore) in a seed funding round led by Axilor Ventures and Himanshu Aggarwal, Co-founder of Aspiring Minds.

The funding round also saw participation from several investors included Tarun Khanna (Harvard Business School), Raman Uberoi (ex-COO CRISIL), Sunil Kalra (Via Projects), Rahul Jain (Co-Founder Epigamia).

As per the startup, the raised funds will be used to strengthen its operations via advanced technology and agronomy stack.

Pepper Farms | Farms Made Smart

Founded by Saurabh Singla, alumni of IIT Guwahati, and Shalini Aggarwal, Chartered Accountant, alumni of SRCC, Pepper Farms is a Gurugram-based agritech startup that is building India’s largest smart farm chain connecting customers directly with farms/farmers. The startup helps farmers organise the vegetable production lifecycle starting with plantations until harvest and sales.

Speaking about the startup, Shalini Aggarwal (Co-Founder) said,

“The idea was to reduce inefficiencies plaguing the farming ecosystem. With structuring small, fragmented farms, we are able to impact the lives of hundreds of farmers, skilled and unskilled workforce while delivering quality production for the masses.”

Pepper Farms directly works with farm owners, farmers, and others involved in the value chain of vegetable production, providing customers reliability, consistency, transparency and standardization both on prices and quality for Fruits and Vegetables. The startup aims to bring production of another 1,000 acres under Pepper Farms in the next 12 months, Saurabh Singla stated.

Aiming to disrupt the farming industry with its agronomy, operations, and marketing strategies, Pepper Farms presently sells the produce daily across mandies, eRetail, modern retail, and restaurants through its robust supply chain.

Backed by this, the startup has been able to expand its business in the country’s top agricultural geographies, including Punjab, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh managing dozens of farms.
